Visit to Sheldon School - April 2008
Kington St Michael’s top class (Hawks),
went to visit the secondary school of Sheldon. In our visit
we joined in with lots of interesting lessons such as D.T
and many more... Firstly, we participated in a science lesson
doing various experiments; these include seeing what would
happen if you placed a burning cracker under a tube of water
with a thermometer.. What would? In our D.T lesson we were
analysing different crisps such as Cheese and Burgundy,
extra mature cheddar and caramelised onions! Unfortunately
one of the crisps tasted like old feet (YUK!) however we
still had to eat them…
In literacy we were writing about our favourite
sweet, well if we had one! Some people had not been to a
sweet shop so; they didn’t have a favourite. The majority
of the class wrote theirs as a poem. After all of that,
Hawks were starting to get really hungry however, it was
lunchtime!
Lunch was delicious, (just as well really!)
The lesson after lunch was P.E, when we were doing our warm
up we got into a large circle and tried to touch our toes
with our left and right hands. Fortunately we were improving
our basketball skills learning moves like the tornado and
many more. Unfortunately, the next lesson was our last lesson;
music. We had the same teacher as we had last year (when
we learned the pig song) but we learned a different song
this year: which is African for “come together.”
We did a performance (recorded on a tape) with all of the
parts, older men/women, farmers and finally wood-cutters.
Overall we had a great day furthermore we
were expecting two mini-buses but instead we got a coach!
I hope you enjoy all the pictures too!
