CHILDREN'S AREA

Festival of Holi

Holi week started very dramatically with a plane journey. After having their passports stamped our school boarded their flight to Nepal. Following in-flight refreshments and fantastic views they touched down and spent the week exploring the culture of the area and finding out about the Hindu festival of Holi. Our thanks go to all staff and parents who supported this week’s learning and made it so memorable for the children.

Have a pleasant journey!

The school would like to thank Mrs Chowdri of Cafe India in Chippenham who supplied a mixture of rice, pakora and poppadoms for the children to try free of charge. The children were very adventurous when it came to trying the new food to the extent that there wasn't even a grain of rice left at the end!

As part of our celebrations for the Festival of Holi, Sparrow class children retold the story of Fagu or Holi with puppets, music and dance using coloured lighting. The children had prepared their own parts of the story in small groups and performed it to Blackbirds and Eagles.
