Environmental / Eco-School Club

The Environmental Club – the old Explorers Club – meet weekly to discuss environmental issues and to maintain and improve the school environment. The club is open to Key Stage 2 children.

In the winter, when it was too wet to go outside, we planned our gardening for the year. We also made bird boxes.

The bird boxes were great fun – but hard work! We had to do lots of sawing, and the wood was very tough!

The results of our efforts can be seen around the village and on Cepen Park – and we even have a few on the school grounds!

We are now going to try for an Eco-School award – watch this space for further news and information.

The Environmental Club enjoyed taking part in the Big Tidy event - we have been litter detectives all around The Ridings. We picked up all the litter and sorted it - most of it was dropped by adults, with the most litter being cigarette butts. Take your litter home!
