We are sending this last newsletter of the academic year out this week today as our Year 6 pupils will be out of school on Secondary Induction days from tomorrow.
School Fete
Don’t forget our Pirate Fete on Saturday. Fete and stalls open at 3pm and the BBQ and Disco start at 5pm.
Leaver’s Service
Our Year 6 pupils will be leading their Church service at 1.30pm on Friday 23rd July. We hope to see as many parents as possible joining us. However, there is a funeral in the Church before our service and we ask parents NOT to arrive at the church before 1.15pm.
KS2 Performance
This year’s performance of ‘Ye-Ha!’ was a resounding success and enjoyed by all – especially the bad jokes! Congratulations to the children of Eagles and Hawks for their fantastic performances.
School Picnic
What a shame, after weeks of beautiful weather, this had to be held in school. However, it was nice to see parents in with us and we had a very pleasant (and dry!) picnic.
Reports
We hope you have found the annual reports useful and informative. I am sure that you will all appreciate the amount of time the teachers have spent on these! Congratulations to our Year 2 and Year 6 pupils for gaining such a high standard in their SATs tests. All their hard work has certainly paid off! We wish our Year 6 pupils the very best of luck as they move on to their secondary school. We shall look forward to hearing great things of you all in the future.
School Magazine
Our Year 6 pupils have been working extremely hard, and independently, to produce a brilliant school magazine. It is full of articles, information, interviews and fun. Year 6 will be selling their magazine each day for the rest of term around the classes and after school at a cost of £1. If children would like to buy a copy they may bring the money in to school or parents may purchase one after school. Well done to the Year 6 children for initiating, organising and completing this project so well.
Headlice
Please stay vigilant as these unwanted visitors are making an appearance again. If you require any information or advice, please ask for a leaflet at the office.
Free Time
This is a new scheme developed by the Extended Services provision to provide funding for out of school hours learning. If you have school aged children and are affected by low income or the credit crunch, this may be able to subsidise the cost for your child to take part in after school activities. If your child has free school meals or you are claiming benefits, please ask at the school office for further details and to find out if your child can access this scheme.
Mobile Phones
The school collects old and unused mobile phones for a cash back scheme. We only require another 20 phones for the school to receive £75. If you have any unwanted phones at home, or can ask friends and work colleagues, please bring them in to school or pass directly to Miss Broadhurst (Jamie Phillip’s mum).
Congratulations
Very well done to Tristan Gay for being awarded his orange belt in Tae Kwon Do; Abbie Elms for passing her regional grade 13 in gymnastics with distinction and for coming 3rd overall; Annabelle Dickie for achieving her 25m swimming badge; Katie Whiting for passing Stage 4 swimming; and, Jamie Phillips for coming first in the South West Regional BMX Under 7s Race.
Our cyclists deserve congratulations too as they came 3rd in the Tour de France festival at Sheldon. They were superb ambassadors for the school and demonstrated great team spirit and sportsmanship.
